Gioielli in Fermento 2016. Un gioiello, come il vino, è una miracolosa combinazione tra libertà e vincolo.

Non può esserci libertà senza vincolo, come pure non ci può essere vincolo senza libertà.
Nel mio concetto da orafa la libertà di trasformazione e movimento del gioiello sono alla base del pensiero compositivo, concetto che trova un’analogia nella metamorfosi della vite nel suo divenire vino.
L’idea creativa nella sua libertà d’immaginazione deve confrontarsi nelle varie fasi, con vincoli come la portabilità del gioiello e le caratteristiche della materia prescelta. Vincoli che diventano dei riferimenti importanti da seguire nel raggiungimento di una sintesi creativa completa. L’arte del gioiello risiede nella capacità di fondere con maestranza la materialità vincolante con la libera spiritualità.
La portabilità si traduce come arricchimento del comportamento di chi indossa, sia nella considerazione del proprio io che nel contesto interpersonale. Il portatore è provocato ad iniziare un dialogo con l’oggetto, il suo contesto ed addirittura se stesso nel rapportarsi con la giocosità inerente al gioiello. Più che un semplice ornamento, gli oggetti sono delle sculture in miniatura, piccoli universi che rilasciano il potere della materia.
Ogni pezzo esige di essere considerato, chiede una reazione, e non vuole essere solamente il piacere di facciata.
La collana presentata per questa edizione di Gioielli in Fermento è basata su una ripetizione di elementi come chicchi d’uva. La semplice forma base dà inizio ad una dialettica tra aperto e vuoto, curvo e diritto, soffice e duro, colorato e metallico, che crea una molteplicità di espressioni ed usi così anche come le tante tipologie, gradazioni e colori del vino.
Sia l’elemento base parte dal simbolo geometrico primario del cerchio, come pure l’aggregazione completa ricompone un cerchio in continua metamorfosi, trasformata continuamente dalle esigenze e dal carattere di chi indosserà la collana.
Vino e gioiello possono accompagnare un pranzo quotidiano oppure essere protagonisti di una serata importante. Si può anche affermare che gli effetti del gioiello devono essere simili a quelli del vino, esuberanti e che diano alla testa – tutto entro un certo vincolo, ovviamente.

Mara Irsara vive e lavora a Londra.
E’ architetto con Master degree alla Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture & Design. Moltiplica la sua professione tra progetti di architettura e design. I progetti orafi di Mara riflettono lo studio di forme primordiali, analizzate secondo principi strutturali e funzionali. Un gioiello raffinato che diventa affermazione decisa illuminando chi lo indossa. Un pensiero originale e intrigante alimenta e arricchisce lo spirito creativo… un circolo virtuoso!

Mara Irsara lives and works in London, UK.
Graduating from her Masters at the Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture & Design. Initially trained (and still practising) as an architect, Mara’s design reflects geometric primordial shapes, which are investigated according to principle of structures and arrangement. Fine Jewellery turns into bold expressions which illuminate the wearer. Outspoken thoughts and witty thinking make creativity spin and thrill and grow!

Gioielli in Fermento 2016. A piece of jewellery is an amazing combination of freedom and constraint, like wine is.

There can’t be freedom without constraint, and there is no constraint without freedom. 
The tension between transformation and constraint is at the heart of my creative thinking. Much like the tension of transforming a grape into wine, my jewellery embraces this concept of movement and transformation between form, material and connections.
The creative thought is bound by various physicalities, such as the wearibility of the jewellery and the caracteristics of the chosen material. The transposition of the concept to reality is only born by consciously merging material with creative freedom. The resulting piece of jewelllery is nothing if not having life breathed into it by wearing, owning and interacting with it. We activate it and set it on a life-long journey to collect and absorb its
surroundings. The wearer is elevated to starting a dialog, with this object, his surrounding or even him/herself by engaging with the games inherent in a piece.
More then simple adornment, the objects are miniature sculptures, small universes, which release the power of the material. Every piece asks to be considered, demands a stance. It is not solely wanting aesthetic pleasure. 
This same power is released from the simple grape, which transform and evolves into its final form: wine.
The necklace presented for this edition of Gioielli in Fermento is based on the repetition of elements, like the grapes. The simple shape starts a dialectic between open and closed, curved and straight, soft and hard, coloured and metallic. This creates multiple expressions and uses, similar to the many types and colours of the wine.
This basic shape refers to the geometric symbol of the circle, and in the same way the final assembly creates a circle, continuously changing by the demand of the wearer.
Wine and jewellery can accompany a daily meal or be the main character for an important evening. You might even say that the effects of the jewellery should be similar to those of the wine, exuberant and inebriating –within a certain limit, of course.
