Dear all
I wanted to thank you all (specially Eliana [Negroni] and Enrico [Sgorbati, Torre Fornello] who worked really hard for the success of this event) and share some reflection about Gioielli In Fermento. I had the opportunity to talk with Paulo [Ribeiro] and Leo [Caballero] on Sunday about this “contemporary jewellery is dead” trend and articles we see nowadays in the field… When I see events like Gioielli in Fermento, I really believe they are all wrong. The beauty of this event is to mix something people are familiar with (wine tasting) with a more intimate and unknown field: art jewellery. And I think it works well… You managed to have 200 people (I have guessed the number) gathering in the cantina to enjoy this event. I am sure the majority of them don’t know anything about art jewellery and came for the vine and the scenery but they looked at the exhibition, enjoyed it and started their education in art jewellery… And they will come back next year… This event is complementary to events like Joya Barcelona or Schmuck as it mixes art jewellery connoisseurs with new comers. I really believe its a wonderful idea and a success. We need more initiatives like Gioilli in Fermento instead of lamenting ourselves that contemporary jewellery is dead. Thank you again for organising it and long life to Torre Fornello !
Best regards
Isabelle
