“A tree, a branch and the hidden form are the main principles of this project. However my final attempt was to depict the inherent beauty and transform
a common cedar branch to a body ornament. To reveal the beauty that is frequently hidden in the natural materials.”

Akis Goumas

Nato ad Atene nel ’52, Goumas disegna e realizza gioielli dal 1980 ed i suoi lavori sono stati selezionati nei concorsi già negli anni ’80 e ’90.
Ha studiato gemmologia e perfezionato la sua formazione in Germania. Fondatore del brand Onar SA che produce gioielli e oggetti artistici dal 1990. Responsabile del dipartimento di progettazione orafa, è docente alla Chalkis Jewellery School E.Robbert. E’ ricercatore esperto in tecniche preistoriche della lavorazione dei metalli, collabora con il Museo Archeologico di Atene, il Museum of Cycladic Art ed il Benaki Museum of Athens ed è membro della Chamber of FineArts di Grecia.

Born in Athens in 1952 designing and creating jewellery since 1980 Goumas’ work has been distinguished in National competitions in the 80’s and 90’s. He studied gemmology and attended courses in Hattgenstein, Germany. Co founded ONAR SA company  in 1990, producing jewellery and objects. Responsible for the design department. Interested in teaching since (1994 -1998) – Campus Arts and Sciences and Chalkis Jewellery school Eric  Robbert (2000 until now).  With a group of archaeologists he studies  and researches prehistoric metal technology in National Archaeological Museum of Athens and designs for the Museum of Cycladic Art and for the Benaki Museum of Athens. He’s a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.
